The Equipment and Expertise You Need
Dow Haltermann Custom Processing has several multifunctional reactors, varying from 2 m³ to 70 m³ in size. These reactors can be operated in a stand-alone mode or connected to one of the high-performance distillation units. Dow Haltermann also has special expertise needed to perform some corrosive reactions.

Typical chemistries suited for batch processing (or semi-batch processing) include dehydration, etherification and esterification. At some Dow Haltermann plants, batch reactors can be used in connection with other equipment to produce high-purity products for pharmaceutical or agrochemical applications.

Types of Equipment Available
At our Seal Sands plant in the U.K. and our Freeport facility in the U.S., glass-lined reactors allow us to perform reactions with corrosive materials. All other Dow Haltermann plants have stainless steel reactors.
